Martin Lagestee graduated from the Amsterdam Film Academy in 1977. He has since then made a large number of documentaries, shorts and feature films. In 1980 he won the Gold Squirrel for the short film "Paper Walls". He was nominated for a Cinekid 2000 Award for his feature "The Red Swan" and his film "Pipo en de p-p-Parelridder" drew over 200.000 visitors, which made it a "Golden Film". In 1985 he started his own film production company - LAGESTEE FILM BV, an Amsterdam based independent production house. The firm has developed and produced projects in the field of feature films, documentaries, industrials for trade and industry and the government.
