A documentary by Carel Erasmus and Floris Meinardi, in cooperation with Bardolino Film, coproduction with AVRO and supported by the CoBO Fund. A gripping, adventurous documentary on the odd life of one of the most popular and well-known Dutch writers: Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema, Soldier of Orange, who died September 26,2007 in Hawaii at the age of 90.

Soldaat voor Ambon was broadcast by AVRO April 20th, 2010 Ned2. 

The film also screened in several war museums: Museum Maluku (Utrecht), Verzetsmuseum Zuid-Holland (Gouda), the OorlogsVerzetsMuseum (Rotterdam), Liberty Park (Overloon) and in the Museon (The Hague).
